In 1903, George “Stormy” Kromer—a semi-pro baseball player and railroad engineer— asked his wife, Ida, for a solution to the freezing wind stealing his cap as he navigated locomotives across the open prairies of the Midwest. Her solution was to hand-stitch the now-famous earflaps on one of Stormy’s old baseball caps. The hat stayed on. His head stayed warm. And a legend was born.

The now iconic Stormy Kromer comes with 100 years of craftsmanship and history built into its design. Each hat is sewn in Michigan, USA and is designed to beat the winter months whilst fitting snugly on your head. The Gatsby Cap is a modern classic from Stormy, featuring authentic Harris Tweed and button detail. Effortlessly stylish, with a fit so comfy you won't help but smile.

Register the unique number sewn into the label of your hat and if your hat is stolen, lost or damaged within 3 years of the date of purchase, Stormy Kromer will replace your hat at 50% of the purchase price.
